WEDNESDAY MORNING WALKING – As weather permits, the middle school students and staff are returning to our Wednesday morning walks on the track at the athletic complex.  Originally started from the Project ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) walk, we walk as a means of getting some morning exercise and to give all involved an opportunity to interact with one another.  On Wednesday, May 2^nd, we will walk to celebrate the 24^th anniversary of the program.

SLEEPING BEAR DUNES FIELD TRIP – The annual 7^th grade field trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is scheduled for Friday, May 18.  The focus of the trip is dune ecology. 

FINE ARTS FAIR AND SPRING CONCERT – On Monday, May 21^st, the district will hold its annual Fine Arts Fair in the high school beginning at 5:30 p.m.  During the evening, the middle school bands will perform in the high school gym – 6^th grade at 6:30 p.m.; 7^th grade at 7:00 p.m.;

8^th grade at 7:30 p.m.  Also, a variety of our middle school students’ art and woodworking projects will be on display. 

SEVENTH GRADE VISION SCREENING – All 7^th grade students will have their vision tested on Wednesday, May 23.

ACADEMIC AWARDS ASSEMBLIES – Beginning on Thursday, May 31^st, we will present our annual end-of-year academic awards during assemblies for each grade level.  On Thursday, the

8^th grade students will be recognized during their assembly at 9:20 a.m.; the 6^th grade awards presentation begins at 12:40 p.m.  Then on Friday, June 1^st, the 7^th grade will be recognized during their assembly at 2:00 p.m.

8^TH GRADE FAREWELL DANCE – We will hold the 8^th grade farewell dance on Saturday, June 2^nd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  This dance is exclusively for our 8^th grade students with no admission charge.

SUMMER BREAK – Wednesday, June 6 is the last day of school before summer break.  The students will be released early.

WEXFORD-MISSAUKEE CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER – The CTC will host a variety of summer camps for middle school students, June 18-20.  Information and registration forms are available in the middle school office.
